Check valve, also known as non-return valve or one-way valve, is a valve that can automatically prevent fluid backflow. It mainly relies on the flow of the medium itself to open and close the valve disc to prevent the medium from backflowing, and plays a role in protecting equipment and pipeline systems. The following is a detailed introduction and description of the check valve:
Working principle
The check valve controls the opening and closing of the valve disc through fluid pressure and its own weight. When the medium flows forward, the valve disc opens under the action of fluid pressure; when the medium flows in the reverse direction, the fluid pressure and the valve disc's own weight close the valve disc to prevent the medium from backflowing.
Main types
1. Lift check valve:
Structure: The valve disc moves up and down along the vertical center line of the valve body.
Features: Suitable for horizontal pipeline installation, good sealing performance.
2. Swing check valve:
Structure: The valve disc rotates around the pin outside the valve seat.
Features: Suitable for large-diameter pipelines and vertical pipelines, with low flow resistance.
3. Butterfly check valve:
Structure: The valve disc is a butterfly structure and rotates along the center line of the valve body.
Features: simple structure, small flow resistance, suitable for low pressure and large diameter pipelines.
4. Ball check valve:
Structure: The valve disc is a sphere, which moves along the inner channel of the valve body.
Features: good sealing performance, suitable for low pressure and small diameter pipelines.
5. Diaphragm check valve:
Structure: The opening and closing of the valve are controlled by the bending deformation of the flexible diaphragm.
Features: suitable for media that are easy to scale and pollute.
